June 16 is recognized as the Day of the African Child and we had a great time celebrating in the Dar es Salaam city centre, hosted by Sema Tanzania.

As you can imagine, the day means a lot to us. All of the work that we do at Ubongo is for children and it was great to be able to interact with the hundreds of kids who were excited to see us and tell us how much they love Ubongo Kids and Akili and Me. We had lots of fun activities for the kids, including Akili and Me cut-outs, episode screenings at our stall, and most exciting, Akili and Little Lion mascots!

It was also a great opportunity to promote the show to the press and to parents who knew about the program through their kids. We sold CDs and posters, getting more and more people excited for the upcoming episodes. Thank you to everyone who came out!
